MJCCA Day Camps: About Our Camps
Traditional CampCampers are placed in same-sex groups based on their grade and will enjoy all of the activities we offer at Camp Isidore Alterman. Multiple groups in each grade make up a camp unit. Campers participate in a selection of age-appropriate core activities including archery, arts & crafts, boating & canoeing, cooking, horseback, Israeli Culture, low ropes and more. All campers enjoy daily free swim, and rising kindergarten and first graders will also have instructional swim each day. Theme days such Maccabiah and Israel Day will also be scheduled throughout the summer. Traditional camp takes place on our 30+ acre outdoor campus with plenty of shaded shelters and covered wooded areas. Sample Schedules: Specialty CampsOur specialty camps are the most diverse and exciting in town. From Legoland to Pinkalicious, CSI to Music Mahem -- the choices are endless! Campers will participate in morning 'Boker Tov,' daily free swim, afternoon 'L'Hitraot,' and our Friday Shabbat program, and will spend the balance of each day participating in their specialty camp activities. Each specialty camp is limited in size to ensure individualized attention. Sample Schedules: Teen CampsWhat’s more fun than camp versions of popular reality television shows? Our teen campers will spend the summer in some of our most unique camps: from “Fearless” (our version of “Fear Factor”), “Project Style” (our version of “Project Runway”), “Mind Your Own Business” (our version of “The Apprentice”), “Take the Cake” (our version of “Cake Boss”),and so many more, we’ve taken reality TV to the next level. In addition to exciting competitions, community service projects, and ultimate challenges, many of our teen camps include day trips and overnights. Drama CampDrama camp is a professional, educational, fun-filled summer program. With units specially tailored to aged-based groups, Drama Camp provides a rewarding performance experience for each and every camper. The program’s exciting performing arts curriculum features instruction in acting, auditioning, set painting, singing, scene creation, improvisation, and more. Sports CampsOur hand-picked and highly-skilled staff of sports experts are here to ensure that your child receives the best camp experience possible in our popular Sports Camps. Our coaches provide instruction on a wide range of sports while challenging them through scrimmages and games. MJCCA Summer Day Camps offer Atlanta families the most enriching Jewish day camping experience in the South, with more than 100 day camp options for campers of all ages and interests!
