TEAM GYMNASTICS
Pre-Team
Pre-Team is MJCCA Gymnastics' first step to competitive gymnastics. Practicing two days a week,
Pre-Team begins teaching and instructing skills necessary to be a successful competitive gymnast, while also introducing strength and conditioning into practice. Skills learned and perfected in Pre-Team include everything from round-offs and back walkovers on floor, to pull-overs and back hip circles on the uneven bars, handstand flat back on vault, and cartwheels and scales on balance beam.
Compulsory Gymnastics (AAU and USA)
The MJCCA Compulsory Gymnastics program includes both AAU and USA Gymnastics Levels (Level 3, 4, 5, 6, and Prep-Optional). Practicing up to four days a week, the gymnasts begin exclusive training for higher level competitive gymnastics, and are coached by former NCAA Gymnastics All-Americans and USA Gymnastics National Qualifiers. The program is designed to provide safe and effective training, while improving each gymnast's form, strength, flexibility, body awareness, and coordination. The Compulsory program at the MJCCA also participates in various competitions throughout the state and the southeast as we prepare the gymnasts for Optional competition.
Optional Gymnastics
The MJCCA is in development to produce exceptional optional gymnasts. Several staff members are trained in coaching Level 10 gymnasts and have collegiate coaching and managing experience. With the opening of the state-of-the-art gymnastics facility, we will begin facilitating Optional Gymnastics training to produce optional level gymnasts and optional development programming for our Compulsory gymnasts.
