Ruth B. Jackson Transitions is an initiative by the MJCCA for young adults ages 22-27 with mild to moderate autism or other social and communication challenges. Ruth B. Jackson Transitions aims to foster independence, community contribution, and personal growth in a safe and supportive environment.
Programs are scheduled year-round. They may include volunteering at local organizations, community trips, practicing job skills, planning and cooking a meal, learning about health and wellness, and participating in sports and other leisure activities. All of these activities help to develop independence, social skills, and life skills.
In order to assure a quality experience for all Ruth B. Jackson Transitions participants, an application and intake process has been developed. For more information on current program offerings and to begin the application process, please contact Elizabeth Knapp, Ruth B. Jackson Transitions Program Coordinator.
