Club J Assistant Director

Job Summary: Assist Club J Director with Administrative needs of program and help to oversee daily aspects of program; in addition to overseeing the Club J Staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education, Psychology or Social Work

  • Experience with writing curriculum for school-aged children

Job Responsibilities

  • Write Club J curriculum

  • Implementation of Judaic programming into the Club J curriculum
  • Coordinate weekly newsletter
  • Assist Club J Counselors with activity implementation
  • Direct interaction with Club J parents when they have questions and issues arise
  • Promotion of the Club J program within the Jewish Community
  • Coordination of daily attendance of participants
  • Assist Club J Director with daily administrative functions of program
  • Assist with procurement of supplies for program
  • Coordinate transfer of participants to their enrichment activities within the MJCCA
  • Oversee groups and provide behavior redirection in necessary cases
  • Attend monthly staff meetings and assist Club J Director with agenda

  • Process purchase orders
  • Ensure that staff is clocking in and out and assist with payroll procedures
  • Coordinate daily needs of counselors; e.g., providing arts and crafts projects for day, snack and supply dispersal, and others, as needed.
  • Maintain cell phones and walkie-talkies
  • Provide assistance to Club J Director, as needed

Early Childhood Services - 2 Positions

Job Responsibilities

  • Meeting the physical, social and emotional needs of the children in your care
  • Direct supervision of the children, substitute teachers and volunteers in the classroom

  • Classroom set up and arrangement
  • Record keeping including daily class attendance in compliance with school policy and procedure
  • Writing of student reports and communicating student progress in parent/teacher conferences

Year-Round Swim Team Coach

The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta is looking for a qualified individual to serve as a Swim Team Coach for our Zaban Sharks swim team. The team operates age-group competitive swim instruction for children four through eighteen. The team conducts internal time trial meets, and regularly attends USA Swim Meets on weekends during the season.

Qualifications

  • Required Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid & CPR-PR/AED preferred
  • Current USA Swim Coach Certification is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute age and ability appropriate competitive swim instruction for members of the team.
  • Work with the other swim team coaches on staff.
  • Attend practices and swim meets. The Zaban Sharks Swim Team normally practices from 4:30pm to 6:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Fridays with Saturday and Sunday meets throughout the season as determined by the Aquatics Program Director.

Compensation is competitive and dependent on qualifications.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand or walk 80% of the day
  • Near visual acuity is necessary for reading instructions and specifications

  • Able to lift and transport infants/toddlers to 30 lbs to comfort, feed and change
  • Able to lift and transport a child weighing up to 50 lbs to safety in the event of an emergency/injury
  • Able to change children’s diapers following proper health and safety precautions
  • Able to bend and stoop to interact with children at their eye level
  • Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, wrist/arm flexion is preformed 30-70% of the workday
