How long is my MJCCA membership effective?Your MJCCA membership is for one continuous year from the month you join. What happens when my membership comes up for renewal? All payment plan memberships will automatically renew at prevailing rates on the anniversary of your join date. All members paying in full must send in payment for membership upon receipt of their annual MJCCA statement. You may pay using a check or credit card. Payments will be debited from a checking account or charged to a credit card each month. What credit cards does the MJCCA accept? The MJCCA accepts Visa, MasterCard®, American Express® and Discover®. This payment plan pertains to an annual membership and is not offered as a month-to-month membership option. Can I move between membership levels?Members at the Recreation Plus level may upgrade their membership at any time. In case of partial-year upgrades, the fee will be prorated. Membership downgrades are permitted only at the time of renewal. The MJCCA also offers the option for Recreation Plus members to upgrade one family member to the Total Health level. Can I freeze my MJCCA membership?Only Recreation Plus or Total Health memberships may be frozen or extended due to illness or injury only. Memberships can only be frozen for a period of one, two or three months. A doctor’s note documenting the date and nature of your illness or injury must be provided to the membership department immediately, and memberships can only be frozen once during a membership year. What if I want to cancel my membership? To cancel a membership, you must send written notification 30 days prior to the anniversary of your join date. MJCCA memberships can not be cancelled in the first year of membership. What happens if I move out of town in the middle of my membership year?In the event that a member moves out of the metro-Atlanta area, the MJCCA will give a refund on a prorated basis, provided the member provides proof of the move with at least 30 days advance written notice. What if I only live in Atlanta part of the year? The MJCCA offers a six-month Snow Bird Membership at either the Recreation Plus or Total Health level for those who are part-time residents of the metro-Atlanta area. Do I get to use my MJCCA membership at other JCC’s?MJCCA members receive membership privileges to Jewish Community Centers throughout North America. What if I am a current member at another JCC and want to use the MJCCA?We gladly welcome members from another JCC to the MJCCA. With proof of membership at another JCC, guests may use our facilities while visiting in Atlanta for up to 30 days. What is the MJCCA guest pass policy?MJCCA guests are limited to three (3) visits in a calendar year. Guest passes may be purchased at the customer service desk or through the membership department and can be used for one day only. Special arrangements can be made regarding out-of-town guests visiting for an extended period of time. A current MJCCA member must accompany all guests while at the Center.
Can my Caregiver be added to my MJCCA membership?Yes, caregivers can be added to memberships as non-member participants. The MJCCA will issue caregivers an identification card so they may accompany their charge to the MJCCA to participate in parent/child experiences in your absence. Caregivers are not permitted to use the facilities independent of their charge. A nominal fee applies. Who needs a membership card?Membership cards are required for all members age ten (10) and older and must be shown upon request. The MJCCA’s policy requires that all members using the recreational facilities present their membership card to personnel at the sports desk. Members cannot enter the pool, locker rooms, or fitness facilities without presenting their membership card. Effective May 14, 2012 the cost for an ID card replacement will increase to $10 per card. Please see membership if you have any questions. What are Member Perks?Member Perks are exclusive discount offers that we have secured for our members from local and national businesses. These offers range from discounted entertainment and sports tickets to discounts for local restaurants and retailers. Is Financial Assistance Available?Yes, it is the philosophy of the MJCCA that no one is denied membership due to the inability to pay fees. Financial assistance is available through Membership Services. All financial needs must be verified through documentation. Assistance at the Total Health level is only available with medical documentation. Membership Services holds all financial information in the strictest of confidence.
