MJCCA Day Campers Bring Their Talent to the Table During National Culinary Arts Month
Throughout July, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta offers the community a menu of cool culinary camps for rising kindergarteners to teens, and every chef in between!
During National Culinary Arts Month, Specialty and Teen Campers will be immersed in a menu of exciting cooking camps, at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta’s (MJCCA) culinary studio. Take The Cake 7/3 – 7/7
For rising 6th - 9th graders
Teens will design, create and decorate their own cake masterpieces. Campers will learn to design like pros using fondant, gels, decorating tips, piping, fillings, and more. A day trip to a local bakery is included; at the end of the week, teens enter their best cake design for a chance to win a gift card!

Creative Chefs 7/3 – 7/7
For rising K – 2nd graders
Cooking skills and artistic style are combined to build incredible edible art creations. Projects will include funny face sandwiches, Oreo® crafts, ice cream cone clowns, edible bouquets, and more.

(NEW) Chopping Block 7/10 – 7/14
For rising 6th – 9th graders
Not only will teens compete in cooking challenges, but they will visit local kitchens to help craft their own creations. A panel of guest judges will declare winners of “quick fire challenges”. On the last day of camp, teen chefs will participate in an all-out food war competition. No cooking experience necessary!

Baking Bonanza 7/24 – 7/28
For rising 3rd – 6th graders
This is the camp where kids express their culinary genius. Campers will learn to prepare everything from pizza dough to homemade pastry puffs, and brownies.

Restaurant Wars 7/24 – 7/28
For rising 6th – 9th graders
Learn all about the restaurant biz from interior design, menu-planning, cooking, and much more. Campers will build and present their own restaurant concepts to a panel of experts and camp directors, and will also visit local restaurants to meet and learn from local chefs and business owners.

Cooking Capers 7/31 – 8/4
For rising 3rd – 6th graders
Campers will prepare and eat delicious appetizers, main courses and desserts from Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Israel, all of which are compiled in a keepsake cookbook for campers to recreate recipes at home.
