Special NeedsSpecial Resources for Children with Special NeedsYour MJCCA preschooler is viewed as an individual first, enabling our professional teaching staff to plan appropriate instruction based on your child's unique strengths. Not all children learn and develop skills at the same pace. Some children face certain learning challenges. Because of their comprehensive training and experience, our staff is often able to identify a child's particular challenges early enough to successfully achieve timely intervention. This allows us to choose the most appropriate learning path for his or her special needs, whether that includes autism, ADD, ADHD, developmental delay, or a developmental disability. The Adaptive Learning CenterThe Marcus JCC is in partnership with the Adaptive Learning Center, physically located at our Sunshine School preschool campus in East Cobb, and also serving our Dunwoody and Intown locations. Offering onsite therapy and social workers, we are well equipped to facilitate the special needs of children who learn differently. Our preschool program is well known for its support of children with special needs. The Blonder Family Department for Developmental DisabilitiesFor children who are identified as having special needs, the Marcus JCC has a department specifically focused on serving this population. The Blonder Family Department for Developmental Disabilities offers many programs for youth, adults, and families from after school care, to camps, to social programs. The JCC is your very special place for your family member with special needs. |
