MJCCA Centennial

One hundred years ago, Jews with vastly fewer resources than are available today built a Jewish community center in Atlanta. They came to Atlanta with little more than their passion for a better life, and with their hands and their hearts they built a safe, secure, and vibrant community center for their families and for those who followed.

Today, Jews all over metropolitan Atlanta enjoy the fruits of their labors at the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta.

For 100 years, the MJCCA has taught children, cared for the frail, embraced individuals with special needs, enthused teens and young adults, provided culture, nourished bodies and souls and provided the meaningful and caring connections that make us a community.

For 100 years, the MJCCA has turned everyday minutes into Jewish moments that are remembered for a lifetime.

We have earned our reputation for innovation, quality and effectiveness in a diverse range of programs that bring out the best in people. We provide scholarships to those in need and services to those with disabilities to ensure that every member of the community has the opportunity to benefit from our programs. We impact the lives of tens of thousands of people in every corner of the Atlanta area by providing the best in contemporary programs and experiences that enhance Jewish continuity and Jewish identity in order to perpetuate Jewish values.

We do this at Zaban Park and Shirley Blumenthal Park. We do this at Camp Barney Medintz and at Camp Isidore Alterman and at Barbara and Sanford Orkin Camp Chai. We do this at the Weinstein Center for Adult Day Care and at the Weinstein Early Childhood Center. We do this on the ballfields and in the gym, in the classrooms and on the stage. We do this every day for our community.
