Camp Sunday

The MJCCA’s new Camp Sunday program takes the Jewish experience one step further with a unique, engaging, and experiential way for children in Pre-K–2nd grade to learn about and incorporate Jewish values, customs, and traditions into their daily lives. With predominately outdoor activities centered in and around the heart of Camp Isidore Alterman, our campers will engage in many exciting, creative activities designed to help them learn through their experiences.

Examples of some our experiential programs include:

  • Climbing our rock wall when learning about Moses and Mount Sinai
  • Playing “Capture the Flag” as either a Maccabee or a Greek soldier for Chanukah
  • Understanding and interpreting a Torah portion while acting on our theater stage
  • Using our indoor/outdoor pools to help illustrate the story of Noah’s Ark
  • And so much more!

Campers also will enjoy learning more about the Hebrew language, art projects, nature, dance, cooking, stories, and music while they build a foundation of love for Jewish traditions and learning in a non-traditional setting. Consider this the perfect introduction to an informal Jewish education or the next logical step of your child’s Jewish preschool experience.
