The MJCCA boasts a team of award-winning gymnastics coaches who have competed and won awards on both the collegiate and national level.

Award-Winning Gymnastic Coaches in Atlanta

We have an amazing staff of gymnastic's instructors with extensive experience teaching and coaching gymnastics. Whether they are teaching our young children or working with our advanced optional-level competitive gymnasts, our coaches strive to create a partnership with your child and to instill a lifelong love for the sport of gymnastics.

All of our gymnastics coaches are CPR and USA-Gymnastics safety certified.

Brandon Barker

Brandon began working at the JCC in 2012 for numerous departments on campus. He was recruited into the Perimeter Gymnastics family and there began his career as a gymnastics class and preschool teacher. He’s been coaching gymnastics for roughly 3½ years and his excitement and desire to continually improve his coaching ability has grown exponentially. Brandon is originally from Akron, OH and moved to Atlanta in 1995. He graduated from Avondale High School, and besides gymnastics he enjoys football (go Packers) and track and field.

Justin Barnard

Justin is from Alpharetta, GA and graduated from Alpharetta High School in 2012. After graduation he attended Perimeter College for two years before transferring to Kennesaw State, where he is now a senior majoring in marketing. He has been coaching gymnastics for over three years, and has taught almost every program offered by the JCC, from Tumbling 2s all the way to the tween kids and boys classes. One of eight siblings, Justin has always been good with kids; he got into coaching because his sisters were competitive gymnasts and he grew up in that environment. He’s super pumped for another great year at Perimeter!

Aimee Brown

Originally from Mobile, AL, Aimee finished high school as a level 10 gymnast. She went on to become an NCAA gymnast and competed for West Virginia University. After earning a master's degree in forensic psychology, she moved to Atlanta and has been coaching at Perimeter for the past five seasons. Aimee is excited to start another great year at Perimeter Gymnastics!

Noa Levy

Noa is currently a junior at the Weber School, and this is her second year coaching at the JCC. She was a gymnast here from 2009-2015 and retired in 2015 as a level 8. The transition to becoming a coach was a smooth one, and she has enjoyed learning and experiencing gymnastics from a different perspective. She’s so excited to start her second year of coaching alongside these amazing kids. Noa is confident this will be a great year and she’s looking forward to getting to know all of the children as well as their parents.

Stephanie Powers

Stephanie grew up a competitive gymnast in the metro Atlanta area. She retired after level 8, but went on to compete on her high school team. While attending the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), she started coaching as a part time job. After graduation she ventured into real estate and property management but found she wasn’t happy. Five years later she was back doing what she loved, being in the gym, and she’s been coaching ever since. Stephanie has coached a total of 15 years and after joining Perimeter Gymnastics in October 2015 she has quickly fallen in love with this family.

Kamri Riles

Originally from Tallahassee, FL, Kamri currently lives in Ellenwood, GA. She’s been in the world of gymnastics for 22 years, and for 20 of those she was a competitive gymnast at the Tallahassee Gymnastics Center, Roswell Gymnastics in GA, and the University of Bridgeport in CT. She has coached for six years at different club gyms, as well as for the University of Bridgeport. Kamri achieved a bachelor’s degree in health science all while being a student athlete. In May 2016 she gave birth to a beautiful girl named Kari, and she has been an absolute joy. She’s super excited for this upcoming season and is eager to be a great asset to the gymnasts.

Hayley Sider

Hayley is 21 years old and gymnastics is her passion. She started the sport at age three and has been around it ever since. She is a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor at the JCC, and knows CPR. Previously Hayley coached gymnastics for preteens and now loves coaching gymnastics at Perimeter.  Working with gymnasts and helping them hone their skills is something she deeply enjoys. Currently Hayley is studying at Gwinnett Tech to become a radiology technician, and her long term goal is to work at a children's hospital. She has always loved working with children!

Sophie Spiegel

Sophie is a senior at Johns Creek High School where she’s extremely involved, participating in various groups like the Spanish Club, Beta Club, National Honors Society, and Student Council. She competed as a gymnast at Perimeter Gymnastics for five years and is very excited for her second year as a coach! She brings fun and enthusiasm to each class and strives for each gymnast to leave for the day feeling accomplished and with a smile on their face. Sophie loves working with kids, and hopes to do so throughout her career. She is an avid traveler and hopes to someday visit all seven continents!

Kate Stelzel

Kate is going into her junior year at Norcross High School. This is her first year as an official coach for classes and the team, but she has coached gymnastics camp for many years. Previously she was a competitive gymnast at Perimeter and was training level 9 before being sidelined by several foot injuries and then ankle surgery. Kate decided to retire, but loves the sport and she’s thrilled to be able to coach other gymnasts and help them reach their full potential! She’s looking forward to a great year and getting to know each gymnast. On a personal level, Kate absolutely loves food, especially donuts.

Jamie Winokur

A graduate of North Springs High School, Jamie grew up right around the corner. She has loved gymnastics for as long as she can remember and pursued competitive gymnastics through level 10. As a freshman at UGA she competed for the school’s water ski team on a national level. Jamie received a B.S. in Ecology and this fall will begin graduate work in public health. She has been coaching for about eight years, levels 2-10 as well as Xcel. She believes that gymnastics teaches us to challenge our limits, better our best, and at the end of the day, chase perfection. Outside of gymnastics she has taken to mountain biking, rock climbing, and aerial arts.

Maulana Young

Maulana is 17 years old and a senior at Chamblee High School. She recently retired after 12 years of doing gymnastics, two of which were with Perimeter Gymnastics. Due to her love of gymnastics she knew she couldn’t stay away from the gym, so she decided to coach. Maulana has enjoyed working at the JCC’s gymnastics summer camps and is looking forward to helping with classes and birthday parties. She’s excited to start a new page by coaching gymnastics!

Stephanie Young

Stephanie has a love for gymnastics and all things fitness-related. She has been coaching gymnastics for six years, starting when her daughter, Maulana, was in level 7 as a way to learn more about the sport. She has coached all levels up to level 3, and plans to coach preschool classes, as well as run gymnastics birthday parties in the fall.
