Summer 2018 MJCCA Day Camps Provide 100+ Exciting Options For Kids, Teens, Campers Across Metro Atlanta

It may be cold outside, but summer will be here before we know it, and that means choosing a summer camp that’s fun, inspiring, safe for kids, and worry-free for parents. From longtime favorites, to exciting new camps, MJCCA Day Camps has a camp for every imaginable interest. MJCCA Day Camps begins Tuesday, May 29 and runs through Friday, August 10, 2018.  Online registration for returning families is open, and for new families, online registration begins January 14 at 10:00 am. Campers who attend five or more weeks of camp (per camper) are eligible to receive a $25/week discount. MJCCA Day Camps provides free bus transportation from 23 locations throughout metro Atlanta, to the MJCCA’s Zaban Park campus at 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody.

MJCCA Day Camps hours are from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Extended Day Camp Care is available in weekly increments. Before-Camp Care starts at 7:30 am and After-Camp Care ends at 6:00 pm.

Dunwoody (MJCCA’s Zaban Park, 5342 Tilly Mill Rd., Dunwoody) –Traditional, Sports, Performing Arts, Specialty, and Teen Camps offered.

East Cobb (Temple Kol Emeth, 1415 Old Canton Rd., Marietta) – Performing Arts and Specialty Camps offered.

Intown at Emory University (Donna and Marvin Schwartz Center of Performing Arts, 1700 N Decatur Rd., and the Rich Building, 1602 Fishburne Drive, Atlanta) – Performing Arts and Specialty Camps offered.

  • 3D Modeling, for rising 3rd – 8th Graders, offers campers an amazing opportunity to learn how to create simple 3D models and characters, similar to those seen in animated movies and cartoons (Specialty  and Teen Camps)
  • Roadtrippin’ Savannah, for rising 3rd – 5th Graders, offers campers an amazing week in Savannah which includes a dolphin tour, a visit to Tybee Island, a ghost tour, and much more. (Overnight Camp)
  • Angelina Ballerina, for rising Kindergarteners, is a dance camp that brings to life the adventures of Angelina Ballerina, a remarkable mouseling with an unquenchable thirst for fun. (Performing Arts Camp)
  • Ultimate Frisbee Madness, for rising 3rd – 8th Graders, will teach the fundamentals of the fast-paced and exciting game of Ultimate Frisbee, including agility training, throwing techniques, and a tournament-style match. (Sports Camp)
  • Drone Camp, for rising 3rd – 8th Graders, is an action-filled week designed for novice and experienced drone enthusiasts, where campers master one of the world’s fastest growing sports, drone obstacle racing. Campers use iPads and remote controls to navigate the drone through short and long obstacle courses. (Specialty and Teen Camps)
  • Little Medical School, for rising K – 2nd Graders, brings medicine and science to campers in an exciting and entertaining way, as they dress up like doctors, learn how to use instruments doctors use, and make brain and bone molds! (Specialty Camp)
  • Little Vet School, for rising K – 2nd Graders, encourages campers to role play and learn about the exciting world of veterinarians. From interactive demonstrations, crafts and games, to using instruments that real vets use, each camper gets to take home their own adopted stuffed animal dog, and much more. (Specialty Camp)
  • Georgia Trailblazers, for rising 6th – 8th Graders, is an exciting new travel camp where teens will have a blast trekking across Georgia, hiking up to waterfalls, enjoying a local beachfront, exploring natural creeks, and much more. (Teen Camp)
  • HIP-HOP Dance Camp, for rising 1st – 6th Graders, is a fun, high energy-filled week of letting loose to the hip-hop beat! Activities include hip-hop dance moves, break dancing, tumbling, dance battles and games. (Performing Arts Camp)
  • CAMP INC, for rising 6th – 8th Graders, will teach 21st Century skills in a fun way, including creating a company name and logo, building a prototype, surveying potential customers, and developing a startup pitch to be given to real investors! (Teen Camp)
  • Coding Camp, for rising 3rd – 5th Graders, is where campers will design their very own video games, create characters, backgrounds, and stories. The final games will be compatible on any PC or Mac computer. (Specialty Camp)
  • Dance Video Production, for rising 3rd – 8th Graders, is lights, camera, and action-filled! From learning choreography and working the cameras, to filming the video itself, campers learn the ins and outs of a professional dance video set, and star in, film, and edit their own dance video. (Performing Arts Camp)

  • Gesher Hebrew Immersion Camp includes 4-week and 8-week sessions. The MJCCA is one of just a handful of camps in the country to offer this unique, fun-filled camp experience.
  • Youth Sports Academy, a weeklong, overnight sports camp that incorporates athletic development and character building. Powered by the Atlanta Hawks, campers will sharpen their athletic skills under the guidance and training from professional coaches, at Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus, and compete in its state-of-the-art sports complex under the supervision of the Sherry & Harry Maziar Sports Camps staff.
  • Huntsville Space Camp, an overnight camp that will send campers over the moon and back! The weeklong camp begins with an exploration of the space realm at the MJCCA, and then a two-night trip to the Huntsville Space Camp, where campers will get to experience a one-of-a-kind space mission, and astronaut training on authentic simulators, for rising 4th – 8th graders.
  • Camp Barney Medintz Experience, for rising 2nd – 5th Graders, provides a great taste of what Camp Barney, one of the South’s premiere overnight camps, is all about. The three-night camp is the perfect opportunity for your child to experience the magic of overnight camp in just a few days.
