Intown Winter Youth Basketball is for participants living in the Toco Hills area. Weeknight practices for grades 1st-8th will be held in the Toco Hills area and games will be held at the MJCCA. Kindergarten is a Sunday only program with all games and practices being held at the MJCCA.
Your kindergartner will love the JCC K Co-Ed League! Run by JCC staff and volunteer coaches, this Sunday-only program focuses on the fundamentals of the game of basketball. Teams start their sessions with a 15-20 minute practice, focusing on dribbling, passing, and shooting. They will then play a 4v4 game with six-minute quarters, all assisted by coaches on the floor. Your child will work on hand-eye coordination, agility, teamwork, and more as they have a fun time learning basketball. The season will consist of a minimum of two clinics/practices and 6 games.
Learning basketball is a blast for girls and boys in grades 1-2! With a greater emphasis on basketball basics like dribbling, passing, and shooting, our volunteer coaches guide players through basic drills, conditioning exercises, and practice games in weekday practices, with games primarily held on the weekends. There are no tryouts or evaluations for this level of play, and no playoff games ? just a season full of learning, playing, and fun!
Encourage your kids in grades 3-8 to develop their basketball skills in league play at the MJCCA! Volunteer coaches guide players during weekday practices through drills, exercises, and practice games to advance basic skills (dribbling, passing, and shooting) while increasing game IQ. Games are primarily held on the weekends, with playoffs at the end of the season. Evaluations are held on select Sundays in early November to properly balance teams and help ensure an enjoyable, enriching experience for every player.
