Jewish Answers to Life's Most Difficult Questions

Wednesdays, 07-01-2020 (4 sessions)
9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
OFFSITE - Offsite Location 1 •

When dealing with life?s hardships and disappointments, when the suffering is overwhelming or the loss is devastating, many people ask themselves some very difficult questions:

Why do good people suffer?

Why is there so much evil in the world?

Is everything that happens pre-ordained?

Don't I deserve a miracle?

This new four-part course offers thought-provoking approaches to the eternal mystery of the Divine's involvement in our lives based on teachings preserved in Jewish tradition as well as lessons learned from lived experiences. The course explores answers to these timeless questions through the eyes of the rabbinic sages as well as those of modern thinkers and presents multiple Jewish approaches in the quest for understanding.

Participants will need a copy of Where's My Miracle: Exploring Jewish Traditions for Dealing with Tragedy, by Rabbi Dr. Morey Schwartz (available on Kindle or in hardcover).
