Bronze Swim Team – Spring ’23
view options The Bronze groups are dedicated to helping swimmers achieve legal strokes. This is a recreational group that swims minimal yardage. The focus of every practice is helping swimmers understand the fundamentals of all four strokes. To begin swimming with the Bronze Group, a swimmer must know how to swim freestyle and backstroke without stopping and must havea basic (not necessarily legal) understanding of breaststroke. They must also know side breathing, along with being able to perform a kneeling dive with a head-first entry. Bronze 1 and 2 swimmers are invited and encouraged to participate in the monthly time trial meets but are not required to do so. Bronze 2 is for slightly more advanced swimmers than Bronze 1, as they will be focusing more on technique and increasing their yardage to prepare for Silver Recreational. Swimmer picks two days to train per week.
All first-time registrants must complete an evaluation before joining the swim team.
