The Lake at Camp Barney Medintz Overnight Camp in the North Georgia Mountains
Located amidst the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains just 75 miles northeast of Atlanta, "Camp Barney" sits on more than 500 acres of pine forests and exceptional facilities surrounding two private lakes. Every imaginable activity is offered including swimming, boating, water skiing, horseback riding, technical rock climbing, zip lines, tennis, all field and court sports, mountain biking, music, dance, theatre, arts & crafts, radio station, movie production, super chefs cooking school, Israeli Culture, karate, scuba diving, whitewater rafting, and much more.

Camp Barney Medintz is the MJCCA’s Jewish overnight camp located in the North Georgia mountains on 500+ spectacular acres. Boys and girls completing 2nd-10th grade build lifelong friendships, gain independence and self-confidence, and strengthen their Jewish identities. Our campers come from all around the United States and other countries to experience the magic of Our Summer Place. They get to participate in endless activities like horseback riding, ziplining, waterskiing, drama, ropes courses, special events like Color Day and Israel Day, swimming, field and court sports, Israeli dance and music, and so many more!

The MJCCA’s Inclusion Program strives to provide the necessary accommodations and flexibility for youth who require additional support so they may access the transformative opportunities available at the MJCCA. Our Inclusion Team collaborates with parents, educators, and staff to determine if successful program placement is possible.
