The Weinstein School now offers Transitional Kindergarten

2020-21 Registration Dates:
December, 16, 2019 for returning families and January 5, 2020 for new families

Transitional Kindergarten is ideal for children who have completed a 4-year old preschool program, or who are ‘young’ five-year-olds, and may benefit from another year to develop academically, emotionally, physically and/or socially, before progressing to a public or private kindergarten program.

Our curriculum will feature literacy, math, science, and social studies exploration, as well as problem-solving and communications skills. There will also be a heavy emphasis on social-emotional development. Additional attributes include:
  • Low teacher to student ratio (maximum of 10 children per class)
  • Classes will be taught by a certified teacher trained in differentiating instruction
  • Hours are 7:30 am- 3:00 pm, Monday–Friday

The MJCCA’s Inclusion Program strives to provide the necessary accommodations and flexibility for youth who require additional support so they may access the transformative opportunities available at the MJCCA. Our Inclusion Team collaborates with parents, educators, and staff to determine if successful program placement is possible. These youth and their families are then supported by our Inclusion Team through program accommodations and may also receive individualized assistance. Click here for more information.
