Decorated Veteran Pays Tribute to 9/11 During Senior Day at the MJCCA

On Monday, September 11, from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm, active seniors from the community are invited to the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) to participate in a very special Senior Day, at Zaban Park (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody). This year, in remembrance of 9/11, decorated war veteran Cary King will give a keynote address at 1:30 pm, in the MJCCA’s Morris & Rae Frank Theatre. King served in the Infantry and Artillery units in Vietnam, and was later awarded an Army Commendation Medal with “V” for valor, five Bronze stars, and numerous other awards. Throughout his impressive career, King has been recognized as an attorney by several organizations, including the Military and Veteran Affairs Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

The keynote address portion of Senior Day is free and open to the community. To RSVP, go to Veteran's Tribute.

Senior Day at the MJCCA offers men and women, ages 50+, three fabulous activities to choose from, and a delicious Kosher or vegetarian lunch, for $5 per person, ($10 at the door). Activities include: Water Aerobics, Chair Yoga, Jewish Holiday Cooking, Intro to Pickleball, Android 101, and more! This quarterly event is provided through a partnership of the MJCCA, Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta (JF&CS), the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA), and Jewish Home Life Communities (JHLC).

Available upon request, JF&CS Alterman/Jets provides free transportation for those who need a ride to and from the MJCCA. Spaces are limited, and activities requested are not guaranteed.

Advanced registration for Senior Day is required. There is no cost to attend the keynote presentation only. To register go to atlantajcc.org/seniorday. For more information, contact Earl Finley at 678.812.4070, or matureadults@atlantajcc.org.
