Early Childhood Classes

Private Swim Lessons

Both individual and small group private swim lessons are available for our youngest swimmers, affording them the individual attention needed to help them overcome a fear of the water and learn the basic skills necessary for swimming competence. Multiple instructors are available to match your child's temperament and your schedule. All of our instructors are highly trained in American Red Cross teaching methods and adhere to teaching consistent swimming techniques. Before registering, please read our Swim Lesson Parent Handbook. For more information on lessons, please reference our Frequently Asked Questions. To see our Swim Lessons availability, please visit our Swim Lessons Schedule (a walkthrough on how to navigate it is available here). Mommy, Daddy & Me Group Swim
(6 months to 2 years)

A parent-child swim lesson is a fun, safe way to introduce your child to the water. With the reassurance of a parent's arms supporting them, your child will learn such important pre-swimming skills as floating, kicking, putting his/her face into the water, and blowing bubbles. Class size is limited to 8 participants and parents are required to be in the water with their child at all times.

Preschool Group Swim Lessons
(3 to 5 years)

Small group classes of 3 to 5 students meet weekly to learn basic swimming techniques. Participants are grouped by age and ability level and upon completion of their class receive a certificate.

The MJCCA’s Inclusion Program strives to provide the necessary accommodations and flexibility for youth who require additional support so they may access the transformative opportunities available at the MJCCA. Our Inclusion Team collaborates with parents, educators, and staff to determine if successful program placement is possible. These youth and their families are then supported by our Inclusion Team through program accommodations and may also receive individualized assistance. Click here for more information.
