Join the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA), the most popular tennis organization in the southeast and play in the MJCCA's Thursday Women's ALTA's League, the group's most popular league.
Thursday League matches begin at 9:30 a.m. and competition is with women at the same skill level from other facilities across Atlanta. Matches consist of five doubles positions with the best teams advancing to the playoffs and city finals. Our teams receive weekly 1½ hour sessions with professional coaches certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association, Professional Tennis Registry and International Tennis Federation. Our skilled staff of coaches provide coaching sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings to help players learn the nuances and strategies of doubles play.
If it's hard to find time to stay active due to a hectic work schedule our Business Women's League may be best for you. Coaching is available Monday through Thursday evenings with matches played on Sunday afternoons.
Our ALTA Senior's League gives women a chance to exercise their competitive spirits. Matches are on Tuesday mornings beginning at 10:00 am.
Men and women compete on Sundays in January and February in ALTA's Mixed Doubles League. Matches are structured the same as the women's leagues with five double positions playing weekly. Each position is comprised of one man and one woman competing against others at their same skill level. Mixed doubles team coaching provided on weeknights to learn the strategies specific to the unique game of mixed doubles.
Children ages 8 to 18 can have a wonderful experience with Junior ALTA's, learning to play team tennis in an atmosphere of friendly competition. Matches are scheduled on Saturday afternoons with each seven week season culminating with the winners advance to the league playoffs and city finals. Both boys' and girls' leagues have two singles positions and two doubles positions competing each week. Coaching sessions for the juniors are offered on Sundays, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons.
The MJCCA’s Inclusion Program strives to provide the necessary accommodations and flexibility for youth who require additional support so they may access the transformative opportunities available at the MJCCA. Our Inclusion Team collaborates with parents, educators, and staff to determine if successful program placement is possible. These youth and their families are then supported by our Inclusion Team through program accommodations and may also receive individualized assistance. Click here for more information.
