About Jennifer Weiner
Originally from Louisiana, Jennifer grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Princeton University. She worked as a newspaper reporter in Central Pennsylvania, Lexington, Kentucky, and Philadelphia, before the publication of her first novel, Good in Bed, in 2001. There are more than 9 million copies of her books in print in 36 countries. Her newest novel, All Fall Down, will be published on June 17, 2014. Weiner currently lives in Philadelphia with her family.
A recent New Yorker profile demonstrated just how much influence “unlikely feminist enforcer” Jennifer Weiner has on our culture. Her witty, trenchant take on pop culture, gender wars and reality TV have made her tweets, essays and novels essential reading, not only for fans of her fiction, but also the writers, editors, producers and critics who follow her “lively public discussion about the reception and consumption of fiction written by women.”
Forbes magazine ranked her second on their list of “25 Working Moms to Follow on Twitter” saying: “Bestselling novelist Weiner writes guilty pleasure beach reads, fights for her fellow female authors, and still makes time for reality TV commentary. Tune in for hilarious shards of brilliance.”
About All Fall Down
Allison Weiss got her happy ending—a handsome husband, an adorable little girl, a job she loves, and a big house in the suburbs. But when she’s in the pediatrician’s office with her daughter and a magazine flips open to a quiz about addiction, she starts to wonder whether her use of prescription pills is becoming a problem. On the one hand, it’s just prescription medication, the stuff her doctors give her. Is a Percocet at the end of a hard day really different than a glass of wine? Is it such a bad thing to pop a Vicodin after a brutal Jump & Pump class…or after your husband ignores you?
All Fall Down centers on a topic that’s in the headlines everywhere from The New York Times to People magazine, as Weiner gives voice to an unfortunately growing community of women. With a sparkling comedic touch and tender, true-to-life characterizations, this tale of empowerment and redemption – a woman who falls down and has to find her way back up again -- is Jennifer Weiner’s most poignant, timely, and triumphant story yet.
