When: October 30, 2016 – 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, and 4:00 pm
Where: Presented by Alliance Theatre for the Very Young in conjunction with The High Museum of Art exhibition, in the MJCCA’s Morris & Rae Frank Theatre
Cost: $8 - $14
Details: In a playful retelling of the classic story, children will help “create” the animals in the book, bring them to life, and mimic their movement. This interactive play moves from “Can you do it?” to “I can do it!” to “We can do it!”
Ideal for children 1-5 years.

Details: From 2005 to 2015, Matisyahu’s artistic and personal transformation has been nothing less than epic. He’s survived the backlash from the die-hard reggae set, as well as those who saw him only as a “bearded Jewish icon.” In 2014, Matisyahu released Akeda, his most creative, “self-reflective and purely conceived album” to date. Don’t miss this up close and personal evening with this world renowned singer/songwriter.

What: LABA: Birds Sing A Pretty Song

Details: Developed by the 14th Street Y in 2007, LABA is a cutting-edge laboratory for Jewish culture, creating new art inspired by classic Jewish texts. Select directors, designers, musicians, painters, actors, and dancers will be in residence at the MJCCA for a two-week creation period to develop Birds Sing a Pretty Song – a program layering dance, interactive media, live music and film.

Details: A one-of-a-kind collaboration with the Fernbank Museum of Natural History, this play is a gentle and awe-inspiring introduction to the wonders of the pre-historic world, where science and art intersect and where our tiniest audience members interact with the largest dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth.

What: A Brown Bear, A Caterpillar, And A Moon: Treasured Stories By Eric Carle

Details: Mermaid Theater’s much-anticipated new production will bring together old favorites and new friends. Featuring evocative music, stunning visual effects, and innovative puppetry, the play highlights three of Eric Carle’s most beloved tales.

ADDITIONAL 2016-2017 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
Ø Youth Ensemble Theatre Productions - In addition to the Mainstage Productions, the MJCCA will produces several shows with its Youth Ensemble in 2016-17, including Xanadu Jr., Guys and Dolls JR., Beauty and the Beast Kids, and School House Rock Live! Jr.
Ø Spotlight – A year-round, audition-based theatre company for adults with special needs. Performances will include Kalaidescope: A Musical Review on February 5 at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm and Show us Your Shorts: A Festival of New Plays on 23 at 1:00 and 5:00 pm.
Ø Jerry’s Habima Theatre - Georgia’s only theatrical company directed and produced by professionals, featuring actors with special needs. This year’s Habima production, “The Wizard of Oz,” will run March 9 – 19, 2017.
