Summer is just around the corner, and MJCCA Day Camps is ready with delicious options for your budding chef! The MJCCA is pleased to offer the opportunity to learn culinary techniques and create delicious dishes through various culinary camps in three locations – Dunwoody, East Cobb, and Intown Atlanta. Cooking camps are offered for rising K – 8th Grade. MJCCA Day Camps runs May 28 – August 9, 2019.

Culinary Camps Include:

  • Bubbie’s Kitchen (for rising 3rd – 5th graders) – Campers will have a blast recreating culinary classics from their bubbie’s table, such as latkes, challah, tzimmes, and rugelach. They’ll also learn modern takes on classic dishes. Bubbie may have been the star at the table, but now it will be your camper’s turn! Campers will take all their recipes home at the end of the week in their very own cookbook.
  • Cooking Buddies (for rising K and rising 6th – 8th graders) – Following tasty and inventive recipes all week long, our rising Kindergarteners will learn basic cooking skills, while our older campers learn mentoring and role modeling skills and help their younger buddies navigate their way through all sorts of delicious dishes. And of course, everyone gets to eat their yummy creations!
  • Cook by the Book (for rising k-2nd graders) – Favorite stories like If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and Dragons Love Tacos will be used as inspiration for culinary fun at camp! Each day, we will read different stories and then prepare delectable dishes based off popular children’s books. At the end of the week, campers will take their recipes home in their very own cookbook!
  • Culinary Video Stars (for rising 6th – 8th graders) – Ever want to be a star of your own cooking show? Now is your chance! There are millions of culinary videos on the internet and each one is different. By using videos as inspiration, teen campers will recreate their very own cooking videos and pick up new culinary skills along the way! Campers will get a copy of their videos at the end of the week.
  • Taste of Atlanta Travel Camp (for rising 3rd – 5th graders) – In our travel camps, campers will enjoy exciting trips every day to various destinations throughout Atlanta and beyond! Highlights of Taste of Atlanta Travel Camp include: touring a Waffle House Museum, taking a trip to a dairy creamery, and visiting a chocolate-making factory!
  • Edible Art (at our Intown and East Cobb locations, for rising k-2nd graders) – No culinary experience is complete without creativity! In this unique and exciting camp, we’ll combine cooking skills with artistic style to build edible art creations. Projects will include mouse pears, funny-face sandwiches, Oreo crafts, ice cream cone clowns, edible bouquets, and more. Not only will campers have a chance to explore their creative side, but they can eat their masterpieces as well!
