MJCCA Presents "Jazz at the JCC" Series, In Association With the Atlanta Jewish Music Festival, Featuring a Variety of Musical Programs
Series Kicks Off on October 27 With Two Performances by Renowned Pianist Joe Alterman
(ATLANTA, GA – August 27, 2013) – MJCCA Arts & Culture and MJCCA Mature Adults are pleased to announce its 2013-2014 Jazz at the JCC series, in association with the Atlanta Jewish Music Festival. Renowned pianist Joe Alterman will kick off the Series, performing two jazz concerts on October 27, 2013 – at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Alterman has performed at venues around the world, including the Blue Note Jazz Club in Milan and Preservation Hall in New Orleans. Both concerts will be held at the MJCCA’s Morris & Rae Frank Theatre, 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody. Ticket Prices: MJCCA Members $17, Community: $22. 4th Ward Afro Klezmer Orchestra – (May 4, 2014 – 7:30 pm)
A nine-piece klezmer-funk-rock-jazz ensemble that performs original compositions and arrangements, which combine West African rhythms with Eastern European klezmer melodies.
