Details:                        Are you prepared to get up, get excited, and move? Get ready to move your body, put on some boxing gloves, punch, bounce, and move with agility ladders and other amazing fitness equipment that will challenge your every move. Research has shown that vigorous activity for people with Parkinson’s disease will help slow symptoms and increase quality of life. Caregivers are also welcome to join. Sign up to either be a host or be hosted and MJCCA Intown will take care of the rest! We will match four families by age of children and neighborhood. MJCCA Intown will provide the funds for Shabbat dinner, a Shabbat kit, and some fun kids activities. Dinners will be happening in October, January, March & May.

Program:                    Shalom Baby Toddler Tuesday: Little Builders

Details:                        Little Builders is a free playgroup geared toward children 18 months to 3-years-old with a caregiver. The class will start with free play in the Sophie Hirsh Srochi Discovery Center then we will build, build, build. Details:                        Encountering challenges and interpersonal conflict in life is part of the human condition. Using Jewish teachings, we will practice meeting each moment with an open heart and mind. You will develop practices of noticing your experience, your thoughts, and your emotions while being more in touch with your body. Together, we will explore techniques to create a sustainable, ongoing mindfulness meditation practice. This 6-week class is for beginners as well as experienced meditators who want to refresh the fundamentals of their practice.

Program:                    What the Health?!: Lymphedema

Details:                        Have you experienced major swelling in one or more of your extremities? Have you noticed numbness, tingling, heaviness and/or pain in the area(s) near your cancer treatment? Come learn about lymphedema including signs, symptoms, treatment options, and how to reduce the risks of developing it. Shelley DiCecco from The Sports Rehabilitation Center will also cover other forms of prolonged swelling, including after orthopedic surgery, from diabetes, post-trauma, and/or hereditary swelling.
