The Magic of Summer Comes to Life at MJCCA Day Camps

Online Camp Registration Opens Returning Families: Jan. 5, 10 am / First-Time Families: Jan. 12, 10 am

Summer is just around the corner, and the MJCCA will welcome hundreds of campers (rising Pre-K – 10th grade) to the MJCCA Day Camp’s three locations: Dunwoody, Intown, and East Cobb. One of the most popular summer day camp programs in metro Atlanta, MJCCA Day Camps runs from May 26 – August 14, 2020. Free bus transportation will be provided from 19 locations in the metro area. More information: mjccadaycamps.org or 678.812.4004.

“We know that camp can provide a welcome alternative from screens and social media. When our campers unplug, this translates to boating, swimming, and playing in nature; cooking, climbing, or trying a new sport; strengthening social skills, and building self-confidence and independence,” explains MJCCA Days Camps Director Jodi Sonenshine. “We can’t wait for this camp season, and look forward to another wonderful summer, filled with fun, friends, and adventure!”

MJCCA Day Camp Highlights

  • MJCCA Day Camps is thrilled to announce that we’ve earned accreditation by theAmerican Camp Association (ACA). ACA collaborates with experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Red Cross, and other youth-serving agencies to assure that current practices at camps reflect the most up-to-date, research-based standards in camp operation. ACA accreditation is the best evidence parents have of a camp’s commitment to a safe and nurturing environment for their children.
  • An Extra Week of Camp: From August 10–14, 2020, rising K–6th graders can choose from amazing options like Camp Isidore Alterman, Edible Art, and Coding Camp. If school is still out for your child, join us for even more fun, friendships, and adventure!
  • Before Camp Care: Reading Program – Campers can progress on their summer reading before camp. Participants will work on summer reading/assignments from 7:30–8:15 am in a designated reading room. You can sign your child up for this program when you register online for camp. The Before-Camp Care Reading Program is the same price as Before-Camp Care ($35 per camper, per week).
  • Camp Isidore Alterman Western Wall – The installation of our very own Western Wall, built to model the Western Wall in Jerusalem, will be another exciting way for our Camp Isidore Alterman campers to engage in Israeli culture! Campers of all ages and backgrounds will be able to leave notes in the cracks of the wall during the summer. Our Shlichim (emissaries) will then place them at the real Western Wall in Jerusalem when they return to Israel after the camp season.
  • Free Bus Transportation to MJCCA Day Camps at Zaban Park - Buses pick up and drop off campers and staff from various locations in: Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Norcross, Dunwoody, Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell, Intown, Toco Hills, Midtown, and East Cobb.
  • Multiple camp locations – MJCCA Day Campers have the ultimate summer of fun at our three locations throughout Metro Atlanta – Dunwoody, Intown, and East Cobb.
  • Multi Week Discount – Come for 3+ weeks and save on every week, starting with your fourth week of camp.

“MJCCA Day Campers gain on so many fronts when they are part of our day camp family,” said Sonenshine. “From their ability to socialize with their summer friends, to giving them the opportunity to use their senses in nature, MJCCA Day Camps provides the opportunity to build summer camp memories and lasting friendships.”
