The Marcus JCC of Atlanta (MJCCA) Plans Hanukah Celebrations for Kids & Families, and Young Adults

In preparation for the celebratory holiday of Hanukah, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) is pleased to present several community-wide Hanukah programs at various locations across the city. Visit atlantajcc.org for a complete schedule of activities.

“We are pleased to offer these Hanukah programs to children and families, as well as to young adults, in several places across the city,” said Hope Chernak, MJCCA’s Chief Program Officer. “From Dunwoody to Decatur to Atlanta, we are providing our members and participants with festive, creative, and fun Hanukah events.”

Light Up Brookhaven Holiday Celebration (For Kids & Families)

When: November 29, 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Where: Blackburn Park (3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Brookhaven)
Who: Families
Cost: Free and open to the community

Join the MJCCA in Brookhaven for a special night of holiday celebration. This free event features musical performances, holiday crafts, hot chocolate, refreshments, food trucks and Hanukah Menorah lighting. The JCC will host several craft stations as Rabbi Brian Glusman leads Hanukah songs.

The Sophie Hirsh Srochi Discovery Center Open House (For Kids & Families)

When:
Sunday, Dec. 2, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Where: MJCCA (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody)
Who: Children, infant through elementary age, with an adult
Cost: Free and open to the community

The Sophie Hirsh Srochi Discovery Center is perfect for, to explore their Jewish history and actively engage in discovery and learning. Stop by on Dec. 2 for a re-opening! There will be Hanukah crafts, songs, and a special appearance by Rabbi Glusman! Registration preferred but not required!

Join us for three fun-filled evenings of Hanukah celebration. Rabbi Glusman will entertain with fun Hanukah songs and officiate the lighting of the beautiful MJCCA menorah, then enjoy a short performance and complimentary jelly donuts and hot chocolate.   

Hanukah with the Atlanta Hawks (For Young Adults)

When: Wednesday, December 5, 7:00 – 10:00 pm
Where: State Farm Arena (1 State Farm Drive, Atlanta)
Who: Young Adults -- ages 21-40
Cost: $35. Open to the community

Join MJCCA Young Adults for a fun night out, as the Atlanta Hawks take on the Washington Wizards. The Hawks will kick off the game with a Hanukah candle lighting. Fee includes ticket to the game, a $10 food and beverage voucher, and a throwback Hawks bobblehead. This is a night you don't want to miss!

Eight Crazy Nights Hanukah Bash (For Young Adults)

When: Saturday, December 8, 8:00 – 11:00 pm
Where: Smith’s Olde Bar (1578 Piedmont Ave NE, Atlanta)
Who: Young Adults -- ages 21-40
Cost: $20. Open to the community

Celebrate the seventh crazy night of Hanukah with MJCCA Young Adults at one of Jewish Atlanta's largest events. Dance the night away with our DJ and enjoy cocktails, latkes, jelly donuts, raffles, and more. Fee includes one drink ticket and food. Don't wait, ticket price increases at the door. Attendees are encouraged to take Uber or Lyft. Parking is available at Ansley Shopping Center across the street.
