The MJCCA Invites Atlanta's 60+ Community to Feed Their Mind, Body & Soul at Senior Day at the MJCCA
The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) will host Senior Day at the MJCCA on Monday, May 14, 2018, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Atlanta-area seniors (60+) are invited to choose three activities from a list that includes cooking, art, exercise, Israeli Folk Dancing, a sample Lisa F. Brill Institute for Jewish Learning class, and more. The registration fee of $5.00 includes a kosher meat or vegetarian lunch. Senior Day Activities (participants can choose one from each session):
Session 1 (10:00 am – 10:50 am)
- The Music of IL VOLO: Enjoy music from the famed Italian pop opera trio
- Elder Law Q&A: Bring your questions for Chris Brannon of Brannon Napier Elder Law
- Shavuot Cooking - make a delicious Agave Cheesecake, a sweet twist to a classic Shavuot dessert
Session 2 (11:00 am – 11:50 am)
- Supplements 101: Get educated on the world of vitamins
- Mason Jar Gardening: Create and care for your own terrarium
- Israeli Folk Dancing: Cut a rug with Rikud Atlanta’s Meliss Jakubovic
- Shavuot Cooking - make a delicious Agave Cheesecake, a sweet twist to a classic Shavuot dessert
Lunch (12:00 pm – 12:40 pm)
- Fresh Green Salad w/Sliced Chicken Breast
- Fruity Romaine & Arugula Salad
Session 3 (12:45 pm – 1:35 pm)
- To Israel: An informative talk from the MJCCA’s Israeli emissary, Tamar Gez
- BodyVive – A low-impact workout for active seniors of all fitness levels
- Taste of Judaism: Sample a class from the Lisa F. Brill Institute of Jewish Learning
