Rosh Hashanah: How a Day of Trumpets Became the New Year
Rosh Hashanah wasn’t built in a day. Over centuries, rabbis, poets, mystics, and communities transformed a brief biblical festival into the holiday of shofars, self-reflection, and sweet beginnings that we know today. Together, we’ll investigate that remarkable evolution through texts from the Bible to the present, exploring changing ideas about judgment, repentance, prayer, and what it means to start a new year.
