Marcus JCC of Atlanta to Host a Special Program, Living Well with Parkinson's
On Friday, April 27, 2018, from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA), in partnership with Jewish Family & Career Services (JF&CS), will host Living Well with Parkinson’s, at the MJCCA (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody, 30338).
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors, limb rigidity, gait, and balance problems
Living Well with Parkinson’s at the MJCCA – April 27
Parkinson’s patients and their facilitators are invited to spend an educational and active day at the MJCCA's Kuniansky Family Center. Activities include:
- Cooking with the MJCCA’s resident Chef Howard Schreiber and a registered dietician;
- Participating in a movement class through the Alexander technique with Morgan Rysdon; or
- Taking an Art Class with Expressive Arts Therapist Ling Oleas.
Care Partners also have the option to participate or engage in a Care Partner support group. Respite care is available on a case-by-case basis
Participation Fees
MJCCA Member: $5, free for caregiver / Community: $10, $5 for caregiver
