Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the United States and its popularity has already grown quickly at the Marcus JCC. Plans include repurposing a currently underutilized portion of land in the southern area of the Zaban Park Campus to build a new, dedicated pickleball facility. The open-air, covered facility will allow for all-weather play and will feature high-efficiency fans for use during hot weather, as well as rain-protection siding so that matches can take place despite rain or windy weather. A highlight of the space will be the outdoor patio and social area, complete with spectator seating and lounge to ensure that the pickleball atmosphere is one that encourages players and guests to linger and laugh before, during, and after a match. Once built, we will offer superior pickleball leagues, tournaments for all ages, and will be positioned as a leading provider for this growing sport.
