The experience offered at Camp Barney Medintz leaves an indelible imprint on the hearts and minds of its campers and staff. Throughout the camp’s history, the Marcus JCC has remained committed to hiring exceptional staff; offering innovative, exciting, and dynamic programs; and providing a warm atmosphere which instills Jewish values and creates friendships that last a lifetime.
However, beloved by generations of campers for 59 summers, Camp Barney Medintz’s facilities are showing their advanced age. Decades of heavy use and wear-and-tear have rendered cabins, bathhouses, and adult housing outdated and insufficient. Families know that summers at Camp Barney Medintz are transformational for their children’s Jewish connection and they expect facilities that will enhance that experience. We must ensure that camp facilities match the exceptional programming taking place. While capital investments are made every year in the camp’s infrastructure, Camp Barney Medintz now requires a significant overhaul to remain attractive and viable for the next generation of campers and counselors.
