The Marcus JCC is the town square for the Atlanta Jewish community, and this reimagined courtyard will provide a beautiful multi-use entrance space just outside the main building. The space will serve as a communal gathering place and much-needed multi-use location for new and existing programs and events. From preschool athletics and after school playtime to holiday celebrations and picnics, this area will encourage social interaction and support a variety of different activities. A pedestrian “greenway” will connect the new courtyard to the fields and the Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden, enhancing the natural beauty of the campus as well as enhancing the safety of the campus by rerouting traffic flow and directing cars away from the steady stream of people entering the main building. The improved aesthetics of the campus supports the Marcus JCC as a destination that brings the community together from near and far.
